NEWS FROM THE SUMMIT
Hello,
Can you relate to this picture? Those voices we hear in our head, the negative self talk, the mind chatter, the inner critic that holds us back from a life of fulfillment and joy. In coaching, we call it THE SABOTEUR. Its job is to keep us stuck, unhappy, and status quo.
My saboteur kept me stuck in a job for years that did not serve me, by telling me the following: You are too old to make a change. You're not smart enough to learn new things. What are you crazy; you're going to leave this safe place? Do you see how self-limiting these beliefs were?
By hiring my own life coach I was able to learn tools and techniques for quieting the voices of the saboteur, which allowed me to start taking risks, learn new things, and become a certified life coach.
Today, my life is full of purpose and joy, because I am adding value to other people's lives by doing what I was meant to do on this earth, which is life coaching. I am forever grateful that I was able to stop listening to the voices of my saboteur! If you're sick and tired of the voices of your saboteur holding you back, then check out my new workshop:
The Saboteur (Quieting the Voices Within) In this workshop you will learn simple yet powerful tools and techniques for recognizing and managing the saboteur. Click here for more information.
If you would like to do some reading about The Saboteur, here are a couple of great books. Taming Your Gremlin by Rick Carson and The War of Art by Stephen Pressfield. And if you'd like to have a good laugh about The Saboteur, check out this blog that has cartoons about the voices within.
Also included in this newsletter is information about my life changing and transformational outdoor adventure women's retreat in August, upcoming exciting workshops, and an article related to The Saboteur entitled You Are Not Your Mind.
Enjoy! Deb | |

You Are Not Your Mind
by Eckhart Tolle
Enlightenment - what is that?
A beggar had been sitting by the side of a road for over thirty years. One day a stranger walked by. "Spare some change?" mumbled the beggar, mechanically holding out his old baseball cap. "I have nothing to give you," said the stranger. Then he asked: "What's that you are sitting on?" "Nothing," replied the beggar. "Just an old box. I have been sitting on it for as long as I can remember." "Ever looked inside?" asked the stranger. "No," said the beggar. "What's the point? There's nothing in there." "Have a look inside," insisted the stranger. The beggar managed to pry open the lid. With astonishment, disbelief, and elation, he saw that the box was filled with gold.
I am that stranger who has nothing to give you and who is telling you to look inside. Not inside any box, as in the parable, but somewhere even closer: inside yourself.
But I am not a beggar," I can hear you say.
Those who have not found their true wealth, which is the radiant joy of Being and the deep, unshakable peace that comes with it, are beggars, even if they have great material wealth. They are looking outside for scraps of pleasure or fulfillment, for validation, security, or love, while they have a treasure within that not only includes all those things but is infinitely greater than anything the world can offer.
The word enlightenment conjures up the idea of some super-human accomplishment, and the ego likes to keep it that way, but it is simply your natural state of felt oneness with Being. It is a state of connectedness with something immeasurable and indestructible, something that, almost paradoxically, is essentially you and yet is much greater than you. It is finding your true nature beyond name and form. The inability to feel this connectedness gives rise to the illusion of separation, from yourself and from the world around you. You then perceive yourself, consciously or unconsciously, as an isolated fragment...

I would love to connect with you over the phone for a complementary coaching consult. This is a great place to start uncovering and dealing with the voices of your saboteur! It is time to step into the life of your dreams. I would like to leave you with a mantra I use to quiet the voices of my own saboteur. I AM ENOUGH! I KNOW ENOUGH!
With love, joy and abundance,
